President and CEO, New York Women’s Foundation
The New York Women’s Foundation believes deeply in local leadership and brave philanthropy. I have known Hali and Tuhina for years as they are both proud-to-be-loud NYWF Board Alumnae - and I have followed the success of the Asian Women Giving Circle with joy and respect. Hali and Tuhina's work is deeply transformational, placing the philanthropy of women and communities of color at the center of their work. In doing so, not only do they debunk exclusivist and outdated notions of effective philanthropy, but they also build the road for the present and future for an inclusive and effective approach that ensures building civil societies with justice. Now they are capitalizing on their years of experience practicing collective giving to support others to do the same. We are delighted to be working with Faces of Giving to grow giving circles within the New York Women’s Foundation community. Bravo!!
Mary Haviland, Esq.
Executive Director, New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault
Faces of Giving was a huge support to the Alliance. We hired Hali and Tuhina to assist with our organizational strategic plan over a 6-month period. They were smart strategic and sensitive communicators. We conducted a multi-level process with staff, stakeholders in the community and the board. They made important suggestions for change that has moved our organization to a higher level of functioning. I highly recommend them.
Principal Philanthropic Advisor, Moore Philanthropy
The research on which Tuhina and Hali are focused is well past due. Their proven commitment to exposing, mobilizing and lifting up philanthropy in communities of color is the work with which mainstream advisory firms didn’t want to be bothered. I’m excited to have them in this space and very much looking forward the new narrative they will us help construct around donors of color.
